OSHA requires that all biohazard waste containers, bags, and storage areas display the universal biohazard symbol in fluorescent orange or orange-red, along with the word ‘BIOHAZARD.’ Labels must be visible on any container used to store, transport, or ship blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM).
